Released as an OVA in 1985, Angel's Egg is a legendary work in which the genius Mamoru Oshii, who has overturned conventional wisdom in anime and film with each of his works, including Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer, Ghost in the Shell, and Innocence, created a fantastical, otherworldly world, working with Yoshitaka Amano, who would later become a world-renowned illustrator.
